October 9, 2023 – Israeli jet fighters battered the Gaza Strip Monday in retaliation for a surprise attack from Hamas over the weekend that reportedly killed 700 Israelis, according to Israel Defense Spokesperson Jonathan Conricus. The Gaza Strip is now without water, food and electricity as the complete siege continues into the night. Israel has so far launched at least 800 airstrikes on Gaza, killing at least 500 Palestinians, and called for a total blockade of the Gaza Strip.

Israel-Hamas war: What you need to know – Israel continues to pound Gaza with airstrikes, and thousands of rockets have rained down on Israel. More than 900 have been killed in Israel, and at least 600 in Gaza. – A spokesman declares Hamas will execute Israeli hostages every time an airstrike hits civilian homes in Gaza. They state the surprise attack was launched after years of planning and preparations. – Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the Israeli military is going on the offence against Hamas with a force “like never before”. More than 300,000 reservists have been activated. – Israel has declared a “complete siege” of Gaza, cutting off water, food and power supplies.

October 10, 2023 – The first delivery of advanced U.S. weaponry for Israel has arrived by plane as Israeli troops continue to amass at the Gaza border Tuesday night in the largest reservist call-up in the country’s history. Israel has reportedly exchanged mortar fire with Syria, and there is growing concern more countries may become involved in the Israel-Hamas conflict. At least 14 American citizens have been killed in the war between Hamas and Israel, which began Saturday when the Palestinian militant group launched a surprise attack on the country. More than 1,900 people have reportedly been killed in total.

October 11, 2023 – Israel’s military says that militants from the Islamist Palestinian group Hamas killed at least 1,200 Israelis, mostly civilians, in the terror attacks. The new figure comes as the military discovers more bodies. Israel has intensified its retaliatory airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, where Palestinian officials say at least 900 people have been killed and thousands more wounded. Satellite images show the destruction caused by the bombardment. Israel’s military says it has now regained control of its border with Gaza.

October 11, 2023 – Israel has responded to Hamas’ attack over the weekend by conducting a “complete siege” on the Gaza Strip. The Israel Defense Forces has called up 300,000 reserves. Israeli fighters could soon be ready to execute a ground mission in Gaza as the Israeli military has conducted air raids. The Israel Defense Forces confirmed early Wednesday that 1,200 Israelis have died since Hamas began its attack on Saturday. The IDF said the majority of those dead were civilians. Meanwhile, the Palestinian-run Gaza Ministry of Health said that 1,055 Palestinians have died since the start of the escalation.

October 12, 2023 – Israel’s air force continues to identify critical points as much as possible before launching a major ground operation in the Gaza Strip. Following the escalation of pressure by the Israeli army in the region, there was a significant movement in the northeast of Egypt. A large militant convoy consisting of more than 100 vehicles set out towards the Israeli border from the northeast of Egypt. With this development, unmanned aerial vehicles began flying over the city of Sheikh Zuwayid. While UAVs were flying over the city, in the eastern region, they identified the five most critical Hamas bases. Directly affiliated with the Israeli Air Force, F-16 fighter jets carried out a sudden raid. Following the raid, the Israeli army understood that a critical operation had been conducted against a highly important Hamas unit.

In fact, Israeli intelligence finally managed to pinpoint the exact locations of a large portion of the tunnels known as the “Gaza Metro.” Warplanes directly cleared the areas where the tunnels were located using armor-piercing munitions. Following the withdrawal of the Air Force from the region, ground forces in Ashkelon launched an operation from the north of Gaza. Sudden and silent raids resulted in Israeli soldiers collecting important findings. It was through these gathered documents that the Israeli forces made a crucial discovery, leading to a major operation at the region’s most critical point.

Peter Lerner, the chief international spokesperson for the Israeli Defense Forces, has discussed the progress of Israeli forces in their operations against Hamas in an interview with FRANCE 24. “Hamas are currently in a state of disarray as our operations increase and we are currently doing everything to be prepared for a potential ground operation,” Lerner said, without going into details about the expected ground assault. Confirming the killing of Hamas militant Ali Qadi, one of the leaders of last week’s deadly incursion into Israeli territory, he added: “They should all know, from the mastermind of the massacre (…), right at the top, all the way down to the individual terrorist that conducted this massacre, we will not cease until they take them.”

October 15, 2023 – ISRAEL Defense Forces on Sunday (October 15) claimed that Israel is not responsible for the explosion that blew up a convoy carrying Palestine civilians in Salah-al-Din, one of the main roads in the Gaza Strip. “What I am able to say with confidence, because we have asked, is that the IDF did not purposely strike in that area. There was no targeting of vehicles,” said Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson Jonathan Conricus. Israel has vowed to annihilate the terrorist group Hamas in retaliation for terror attack by its fighters in Israeli towns eight days ago, in which the terror group shot men, women and children and seized hostages in the worst attack on civilians in the country’s history. On Friday (October 13), the Israeli military told residents of the northern half of the Gaza Strip, which includes the enclave’s biggest settlement, Gaza City, to move south immediately. On Saturday (October 14), it said it would guarantee the safety of Palestinians fleeing on two main roads until 4 p.m. (1300 GMT). Some videos circulated online from Gaza City on Friday (October 13) showed a convoy of evacuees from Gaza City being hit by shelling. Hamas told people not to leave, saying roads out were unsafe.

October 17, 2023 – The Gaza Health Ministry said at least 500 people were killed Tuesday when an airstrike hit a hospital compound in the center of Gaza City. Israeli officials denied targeting the hospital and said they believed the blast was caused by a rocket from Hamas or Islamic Jihad that fell short and struck the site. CBS News senior foreign correspondent Charlie D’Agata reports.

New Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has not and so far will not allow a vote in the House on additional military support for Ukraine from the United States. China has fired their defensive minister and President Xi has signaled that he wants to meet with President Biden for high level talks.

October 30, 2023 – The Shifa Hospital, the largest hospital in Gaza, also acts as a headquarters for Hamas’ terrorist activities.

October 30, 2023 – ISRAEL-GAZA BORDER – Churches, schools and hospitals: Hamas uses all three as cover for its operations in Gaza, including its main base underneath Gaza’s largest hospital. Hundreds of terrorists are also hiding behind civilians, using the women and children of Gaza as human shields. Dr. Nasser Bulbul, head of the NICU at Al-Shifa, Gaza’s largest hospital, says they are on the verge of running out of critical supplies to keep some of their most vulnerable patients alive. “We do not know what to do as we are facing a severe shortage of medical supplies, ventilators, and essential life-saving medicines,” Bulbul said. While Gazans continue to face severe shortages, deep beneath Al-Shifa hospital, Israel says Hamas has stored up ample food, water, fuel, and other critical supplies, including weapons, to carry out its war against the Jewish state.

November 1, 2023 – For the first time in three weeks the border between Gaza and Egypt has opened, as the war between Israel and Hamas rages, mainly in the north of the Strip. Ambulances for a limited number of wounded Palestinians have been able to go through the Rafah crossing and over three hundred foreign passport holders were allowed to leave. The Jabalia refugee camp has been hit by airstrikes for a second day in a row.

The exact toll from yesterday’s attack is unknown but a local hospital director said hundreds of people were killed or wounded and Israel claims dozens of Hamas militants died. Israeli troops have continued to advance toward the outskirts of Gaza city in the North – 16 Israeli soldiers have been killed this week. Over 1,400 people have died on the Israeli side, mainly civilians during the initial attack by Hamas – proscribed as a terrorist group by the UK. The number of people killed in Gaza in the last three weeks is more than 8700 according to the Health Ministry in Gaza and 22 thousand have been wounded.

November 1, 2023 – TBN Israel’s Yair Pinto reports from the frontlines of the Israel-Gaza War while on active duty with the IDF. Pinto reports on the IDF’s operation into the Jabalia refugee camp where it captured a Hamas command post, discovering classified intel revealing the location of terror tunnels throughout northern Gaza. During the operation, 13 Israeli soldiers lost their lives. Pinto also reports that Yemen has declared war on Israel and fired a ballistic missile towards the Jewish State, which was intercepted by the IDF. November 1, 2023 – A top Hamas commander who was killed in an Israeli airstrike at a refugee camp has been accused of trying to hide among civilians. Israel has confirmed it struck the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza in a bid to eliminate a “terrorist stronghold,” in a hit that according to Hamas cost the lives of 50 people. The IDF described the explosion as a “wide-scale strike on terrorists and terror infrastructure”. It also said that the blast killed the commander of Hamas’s Central Jabaliya Battalion Ibrahim Biari, one of the Hamas leaders responsible for orchestrating the deadly October 7 attacks. November 9, 2023 – Israel Defense Forces – Troops destroyed 130 Hamas tunnel shafts in Gaza since start of ground op. Forces uncover tunnel next to UNRWA school in Beit Hanoun, also find entrances next to structure with car batteries, thought to be hooked up to tunnel air filtration system. Some 130 tunnel shafts in the Gaza Strip have been destroyed since Israel launched its ground operation last month to dismantle Hamas’s infrastructure in the Palestinian enclave, the Israel Defense Forces said Wednesday.

Robots and sniffer dogs – Lior Akerman, senior fellow at the Institute for Policy and Strategy at Israel’s Reichman University and a former senior Shin Bet official, said the ferocious aerial bombardment was meant to immobilize as much of Hamas’ military infrastructure as possible before troops turned to battles underground in the tunnels. Security sources said troops on the ground were also trying to gather more intelligence on the tunnel network without necessarily having to enter them. Robots and sniffer dogs were being deployed to locate tunnel entrances and also probe areas inside them before possible action by specialist ground troops that include commandos from the elite Yahalom unit of the combat engineers. Soldiers are using bulldozers to destroy parts of tunnel entrances.

November 14, 2023 – ABC News’ Matt Gutman embeds with Israeli soldiers in northern Gaza City who claim Hamas is operating near or under hospitals and has held hostages there.

November 15, 2023 – GAZA – The IDF stormed Gaza’s al-Shifa hospital in search of a Hamas base. Video showed elite troops carrying out a ’targeted attack’ on the site which is the largest hospital in Gaza, sheltering hundreds of people. Hamas’s main base is thought to be located in tunnels underneath it. Separately, Shayetet 13 special forces and other IDF troops cleared al-Rantisi hospital, which is located just a few streets away from al-Shifa. They showed how Hamas had constructed a based under the center which was filled with explosives, weapons and ammunition. There was also evidence of people being held underground as the IDF searches for 240 hostages taken by Hamas on Oct 7.

The IDF claimed that the hospital had been used as a Hamas command center under the watch of Mohammed Abu Selmia, who has been taken for interrogation. Hamas — which is categorized as a terror group by the US, the EU, Germany and others — denounced the arrest and called on the International Committee of the Red Cross and other international organizations to push for his release.
