Moses and the Exodus

July 22, 2011 – Joseph was born in 1745 BC during the reign of Tao II, and was sold into slavery at age 17 during the reign of Ahmose I. It was Ahmose I who raised up Joseph at age 30 to build silos all over the country, like those in Avaris atop the conquered 15th dynasty citadel. Jacob’s clan moved to Goshen in 1706 BC during reign of Ahmenhotep I. Ahmenhotep III was the pharaoh who “knew not Joseph” and ordered the deaths of Hebrew boy babies, and it was his daughter Sitamun who rescued Moses, and his wife, queen Tiye who raised Moses in the Nile delta.

Moses’ monotheism may have rubbed off on Ahmenhotep IV who changed his name to Akhenaten. Moses killed the Egyptian when king Tut began his reign. Moses returned to Egypt when Rameses I was on the throne in Avaris, renamed Pi-Ramese. Rameses I was the pharaoh of the exodus. Seti I dredged a canal to retrieve the war chariots from the Gulf of Aqaba. Rameses II made a treaty with the Hittites granting them the land from Lebanon to the Euphrates (Joshua 1:4), which had been under Egyptian control the prior 200 years. April 23, 2018 – Dr. Terry Harman takes the audience on a visual tour of each piece of furniture associated with the Tabernacle of Moses. The following holy vessels will be explored: the altar of burnt sacrifice (brazen altar), the copper laver for washing (brazen laver), the Menorah (golden lampstand), the altar of incense, the table of showbread (“shewbread” in KJV) and the mercy seat and the ark of the covenant.

In Exodus 25:1-9, “The Lord said to Moses, ‘Tell the Israelites to bring me an offering. You are to receive the offering for me from everyone whose heart prompts them to give. These are the offerings you are to receive from them: gold, silver and bronze; blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen; goat hair; ram skins dyed red and another type of durable leather; acacia wood; olive oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense; and onyx stones and other gems to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece. Then have them make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them. Make this tabernacle and all its furnishings exactly like the pattern I will show you.'”

October 10, 2021 – Amenhotep II is little known today, largely because he is overshadowed by the famous Hatshepsut, Thutmose III, Akhenaten, and Tutankhamun. However, he was a very interesting person, given to appalling acts of brutality but also seems to have enjoyed a drink, sounding off about other countries, collecting glass, and enjoying the company of dogs, ducks, and monkeys. Owing to past problems with comments, thanks to a small number of inappropriate ones by certain users, robots injecting unacceptable ones, and the tedious two-step verification every time I want to get in to deal with these, these are all held for reviews. As ever, just a few have to ruin it for everyone.
