November 15, 2022 – Russia has launched its biggest wave of missile attacks on Ukrainian cities in more than a month, hours after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky proposed a peace plan in front of world leaders at the G20 summit in Indonesia.

December 5, 2022 – Air raid sirens have been sounding across Ukraine, as Russia launches a new wave of air strikes. A spokesperson for the Ukrainian air force has warned civilians to take shelter. So far there is no word on casualties or damage. Russian planes reportedly fired more than a hundred missiles targeting key infrastructure in Ukraine. The latest strikes come just hours after multiple explosions at two military bases deep inside Russian territory.

December 16, 2022 – Russian Missile attacks have been reported across Ukraine, including in Kyiv, Odesa, Poltava, Zhytomyr, Kharkiv and Sumy. CNN teams in Kyiv have reported hearing explosions, as well as seeing and hearing missiles. They also heard the air defense systems working in the Ukrainian capital. CNN’s Will Ripley reports.

December 16, 2022 – Ukrainian officials have reported “massive” Russian attacks on energy facilities and infrastructure in the capital Kyiv, southern Kryvyi Rih and northeastern Kharkiv, with authorities urging civilians to take cover. Russia’s state news agency, TASS, has reported eight people were killed and 23 injured in Ukrainian shelling in the Russian-controlled Luhansk region. December 16, 2022 – Russia begins mass airstrike in apparent move to destroy Ukraine’s power grid. A barrage of rockets was fired at several regions across Ukraine, the second mass air attack launched by Russia in days. The aim of the mass attack, authorities said, appeared to be to destroy the Ukrainian power grid in the hope that damaging Ukraine away from the frontline would enable Russia to make gains on the battlefield.

Two people had died and a further five had been injured, including two children, after a rocket hit a residential building in the southern city of Kryvyi Rih, the head of Dnipro region, Valentyn Reznichenko, said on his Telegram

December 16, 2022 – Russia has launched a fresh series of missile strikes this morning on Kyiv and other cities including Kharkiv in the northeast. Residents sheltered underground in a metro station, as loud explosions echoed through the capital and air defenses systems were put into operation.

December 29, 2022 – Ukraine has reported a new wave of Russian missile strikes as blasts were heard in several cities. Sky’s Yousra Elbagir is in Kyiv, which was one city targeted by Russians.

December 29, 2022 – Russia fired scores of missiles into Ukraine early on December 29, targeting Kyiv, the northeastern city of Kharkiv, and other cities in a massive aerial bombardment that sent people rushing to shelters and knocked out power, Ukrainian authorities said.

December 29, 2022 – Several cities in Ukraine were hit by Russian missile strikes. In Kyiv, the regional administration said that air defense systems were activated. It said that fragments from a downed Russian missile damaged a private building in the Damtyskyi district. Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said that 40% of the city’s residents were left without power following strikes.

January 1, 2023 – Russia has marked the new year with a fresh wave of attacks on Ukraine. The capital Kyiv and other cities bore the brunt. Ukraine’s defense forces say Moscow fired at least 20 cruise missiles. They also report shooting down nearly 50 armed drones. But there is some good news despite the latest bombardment. Doctors have been delivering babies over the festive season.
