November 9, 2022 – A well known Ukrainian singer, Alexander Ponomarev, has written a fantastic patriotic song (“УКРАЇНА ПЕРЕМОЖЕ!” / “UKRAINE WILL WIN!”) about the heroic fight of the Ukrainian armed forces against the Russian invaders of their homeland.

The song is loaded with Ukrainian humor, military slang, and local war and weapons references that are unfortunately very well known these days among all Ukrainians.

“The song came to me at night when I was sleeping. I woke up with the chorus in my head, and immediately began writing it on my computer,” says the author.

What came in a dream is now sung all over Ukraine. The song is very popular among Ukrainian soldiers and has inspired a powerful, strong spirited, patriotic response among Ukrainian people.

It’s a really catchy, toe tapping song to cheer all Ukrainians . . . just a little bit . . . during the nearly unbearable misery of Russia’s war crimes assault against the Ukrainian civilian population.

This is my absolute favorite version, sung by Ukrainian grandmothers, moms and children.

Слава Україні! (Slava Ukraini!) “Glory to Ukraine!” / Героям слава! (Heroiam slava!) “Glory to the heroes!”
