CNN’s Fred Pleitgen offers more details of the warrant from Norway. Then, CNN’s Jake Tapper discusses it all with National Security Council Coordinator John Kirby.

March 20, 2023 – China’s President Xi Jinping has arrived in Moscow for a two-day visit and talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. It is Xi’s first visit to Russia since Russian troops invaded Ukraine in 2022. The leaders are due to have lunch later and hold formal talks on Tuesday. For more on the current state of Sino-Russian relations and their strategic visions, FRANCE 24 is joined by Dr. Natasha Kuhrt, Senior Lecturer in International Peace and Security in the Department of War Studies at King’s College in London. Dr. Kuhrt offers a reality check, pointing out that “this is really a relationship that’s been developing for more than 20 years now based on the need to secure the joint border, and reaffirming their joint opposition to Western hegemonism, and so on. So I think we need to be careful not to get too excited.”

Of course, Putin isn’t the type of man to be happy with good enough. He does want everything.

April 13, 2023 – In March 2023, Xi Jinping visited Moscow for a historic summit with Vladimir Putin. Many thought this would usher in a new era of military cooperation between the countries. Instead, Russia received no clear promises of military assistance. What happened? The answers perhaps lie in a complicated problem with Taiwan, political jockeying within their own relationship, and money. It is always the money.
